Being Fully Present

A retreat at Ratna Ling Retreat Center

with Jack Petranker and Ignacio Ercole

For many of us with busy and fast-paced lives, we find that feelings of stress, overwhelm, irritation, or anger arise more frequently than we would like. This causes strain in our relationships at home and at work. The antidote for difficult and damaging emotions is the practice of becoming fully present, finding our breath and being with what is actually happening in this moment, open to our sense of past and future, but not trapped by them.

In this retreat, we explore ways to be fully present with the now. We will draw on practices that engage body, mind, and spirit. We first ground ourselves in our body, work with our breathing, explore our senses of hearing and seeing, and then identify the stories we are telling ourselves. We begin to analyze the thoughts and emotions that build up around these stories.

Through contemplation and movement, time spent in nature, and sharing our time together, we will learn to become more fully alive. We will activate a new way of experiencing that starts with relaxation and the joy of discovery and deepens naturally into compassion and calmness.

If you feel like you could use more peace in your life, find more resources for healing your relations, and learn more about who you are, come join us on this retreat!
