Creative Inquiry into the Law is a new lecture series exploring legal topics through the lens of the Time-Space-Knowledge vision.

In episode 1, Morgan Wells, the director of the Center for Creative Inquiry, discusses the power of not-knowing. Many of our legal systems in the United States are centered on conflict between two opposing sides. Whether it is the adversarial model of justice or the two-party political system, we have adopted mechanisms for making decisions that assume the best outcome will emerge from the clash of two conflicting stories. But what are the consequences of relying on a system of justice that prioritizes the strength of told stories over the search for truth and knowledge? This talk will discuss how not-knowing can be a vehicle for reconciliation and healing. Embracing the unknown future, we can open a door to new possibilities outside the pre-defined positions of dueling adversaries.
