Description of Work:

Reflection of Moon is a dynamic piece reflecting the energy of the moon emitting light. It is enhanced by the movement of the clouds and vibrant orange color of the moon.

Description of Process:

This is a 12 x 12 circular piece using metallic paints and gold netting. To show the textures in the sky, I used gold netting. Then, knowing how it feels to absorb the moon and its energy, I began painting.

I am drawn to beauty and the myriad of ways it surrounds us. I find creative expression allows for a never ending sense of wonder. My focus is on the use of encaustics (pigmented hot beeswax), painting and photography. I feel that abstractions can show light, color, texture, shapes from another perspective.
