A rhythm of time…

“…we can let time become our guide. Before we can act, we must be ready to bring out the negative; must see the situation we are caught in. Then, in the midst of that situation, we can ask: Can we apply ‘positive time’ instead? Perhaps we have memories of times when wonderment and wholesome feelings seemed natural; if so, we can invite this presence into our lives. Can we recall positive thoughts and feelings and imprint them in our memory? Can we be our own friend and counselor? Can we see with fresh eyes?”

“Images arise, together with memories related to images. We trace the activity of ‘pointing out’ through what is already known, building up what proceeds from what has gone before.”
… ‘Knowledge of Time and Space’, by Tarthang Tulku, p. 487

“…a difference begins to emerge between contacting memories of the past and contacting the ‘pastness’ of time itself. Our ordinary experience of the past seems to be a rather random recycling of memories. It happens all the time, bidden or unbidden. But carefully exploring the structure beneath, around, or within these images reveals time in a different, more direct way.”

With You In my Mind”… More than the space of sound, the gentle flow offers, it gives permission to the listener – the Lover — to go deeper, and I do. A luminous listening field widens and includes more than sound… a heart flutters among steady beats as Space opens and life is displayed before me… field after rolling field of history… Pockets of time, space for the unexpected… Hills and valleys of childhood memories and impressions… decades of decisions, and those flashes flesh-out an unfinished sense of myself, leaving the unsaid and unknown. A discordant note flowing with the smooth and silky, an edge of the future feel, anticipating… A not-quite, halting-hesitant kiss between lovers, the intimate feel of warm breath…

Other senses join in, a kind of synesthetic symphony of touch, scent, and taste waft over and through the branches of my being. Lift and lilt float my thoughts in a melodic stream of sweet and tart, discord and harmonic, over and undertones, marking and embarking on a rhythm of time.

I am nearly overwhelmed “With You In my Mind”…

About David Filippone

For more than 25 years I’ve been a 'student' of the Time, Space, Knowledge vision (TSK), not a teacher. And I write from an inquiring student's perspective neither proclaiming nor declaring. I figuratively sit in awe at the feet of a master, Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche. For the past 12 years, my personal TSK guide has been Jack Petranker, Director of the Mangalam Research Center for Buddhist Languages, and the Center for Creative Inquiry (CCI), past dean of the "Tibetan Nyingma Institute", and author of "When It Rains Does Space Get Wet?", "Inside Knowledge", and other TSK related books and articles... I've also received TSK instruction from the late, Carolyn Pasternak of the Odiyan Retreat Center... As a volunteer for the past several years, I've been curating the often TSK focused, CCI Facebook page at... https://tinyurl.com/ybyfolcf
